You can get a tennis elbow pain even if you’ve never played tennis in your entire life. In fact, only 5% of people suffering from this injury are tennis players.

The repetitive motion of your arm leads to swelling of tendons, which is why you may feel mild to severe pain in your elbow. You should visit your doctor at the earliest to get rid of tennis elbow for good.

It’s a painful condition that affects the mobility of your elbow. You can prevent it in the first place by using quality gear that can protect your muscles and tendons from potential injuries.

If you’re already suffering from tennis elbow, you can quickly recover with the help of the following tips:

    Your Elbow Needs Ample Rest

Tennis elbow arises due to repetitive motion of your arm. You can reduce pain by resting your elbow as much as you can. If you feel elbow pain due to working for long hours at your workplace, you should wear an elbow brace to cure pain.

Moreover, move your elbow as little as you can. Through ample rest, you’ll notice a significant improvement in your elbow

    pain.

If you also notice swelling near your elbow, you should use an ice pack to cure it.

    Exercise More

Although you need to rest your elbow to relieve pain, it doesn’t mean you should never move your elbow. It’ll only worsen your condition.

You should rather opt for light exercises that can control stiffness. But make sure you don’t overstress your elbow in an attempt to get rid of the pain.

Physiotherapy proves effective in treating tennis elbow. You should get in touch with a professional physiotherapist for this purpose. Not only will they suggest elbow stretches

for a quick recovery, they may also help you prevent another injury down the road.

Let’s take a look at some useful physical exercises for this painful medical condition:

    • Wrist Stretches –Stretch your wrist to its maximum range, palm down. Use your other hand to pull your extended hand towards you
    • Fist Grip –Rest your forearm on a table. Hold a small rubber ball in your palm and squeeze it for a few minutes with your fingers
    • Twisting a Towel –Hold a towel with both your hands and twist it in opposite directions to exercise your muscles
    • Bend Your Elbow –Stand up straight. Now bend your until it touches your shoulder. Hold it for 10 seconds

    Pain Killers

You can always use painkillers to relieve pain in your aching elbow. But keep in mind it’s a short-term solution.

Consult your doctor if you’re having severe pain, swelling, and inflammation in your elbow. They will suggest the right dose of medicines to help you get rid of elbow pain in no time.

If you don’t treat tennis elbow while it’s still in its early stages, it may develop into chronic pain. With the help of the aforementioned tips, you can strengthen your muscles and get rid of elbow pain in no time.
