ties and Technology Education

Technology Education
ties addresses middle school through high school level teachers and school administrators; junior/community college teachers and teacher educators; and government and industry decision makers. ties supports design and technology education as a K-12 field of study in U.S. schools and deals with technological issues as they affect basic trends in basic education, technical studies and career preparation. Interested readers include technology educators, teachers of science, mathematics, art, computer/robotics, electronics, and technological/career educators.

ties presents technological subjects with a practical creative and interdisciplinary approach. Feature articles are accompanied by design briefs which offer suggested applications for problem solving in the classroom. Published four times a year, each issue reports on new books, products and events in various technological fields. All issues are now entirely web based.

Development of Technology Education
With the exponential growth of new technologies in industry, entertainment, healthcare—all phases of life—educators are under tremendous pressure to prepare students for today's high tech work world and the emerging technologies of the 21st century. Global business, expanding competition and high technology manufacturing have challenged America's leadership of the industrialized world. Our nation must provide its future citizens and workforce with new tools, new skills and new ideas. Technology Education is bringing the realities of the next century into today's classrooms.

ties Magazine reaches this ever growing population of forward thinking educators, specialists in preparing students to meet tomorrow's challenges with technological tools and know how.
